Second Saturday Spinners

Location: Booth 512

Second Saturday Spinners, a local fiber arts group, was founded as a knowledge sharing community of spinners, knitters, and weavers.

Named for the monthly meeting day in Hellertown, the members demonstrate the very-much-current art of spinning at the Bethlehem Rose Garden, Farmers Market, and various other festivals and markets in the Lehigh Valley.  The membership is comprised of experienced spinners, knitters, weavers, and sheep breeders, as well as those brand new to these disciplines.

We will demo a mix of modern and older spinning wheels in addition to some various types of fiber prep work and weaving.  We will have an extra wheel on hand for adults to try out and can offer some advice on wheels brought in. Questions may be address to our email address:  ssspinnerslv@gmail.com.

Fleece Sale

Location: Booth 101

At our annual Lehigh Valley Fiber Festival Fleece Sale, we hope to connect you with your best buyers and/or best fleeces. We believe all fleeces have a use and we strive to help you sell or find the perfect hand spinning fleece, rug felting fleece, needle felting fleece, or that just plain gorgeous fleece you’ve been searching for!

Fleeces will be categorized by the producers and our on-site juror will review and provide feedback for each fleece.

Fleece sale Hours: 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday. This is not an auction, so arrive early for the best selection.

If you’d like help with this event, contact hedge@lvfiberfest.org. Fleeces can be mailed in prior to the festival or hand delivered. See the application for more detailed information on how to enter.

NEW: Used Equipment Consignment

Buy and sell gently used fiber arts equipment and supplies. If you’ve got a spinning wheel gathering dust, a loom you’ve outgrown, or a stash of tools and notions looking for a new home, bring them to us — you set your own asking price, we handle the sale, and you keep 90% of the final price.

Consignors

Drop off your items Friday 12-6 p.m. or at show opening on Saturday. Fill out a Consignor Agreement at drop-off. Proceeds go out by check within 45 days of the close of the festival. Unsold items are picked up 2-3 p.m. on the final day. Anything not picked up is considered a donation to LVFF and we will sell it next year.

Buyers

This is your chance to find a well-loved wheel, hackle, or swift at a friendly price. A few things to know before you shop: Lehigh Valley Fiber Festival is a facilitator, not the seller — every item comes straight from an individual owner, and everything is sold as-is. Our staff can’t answer every question about an item’s history or condition, so inspect everything carefully before you buy. All sales are final, with no returns, refunds, or exchanges. Come early for the best selection, and bring a friend if you’re hoping to carry home something big.
